Student´s Day

In Colombia, on June 8th and 9th marks the day the student dropped, day of the revolutionary student or student day throughout the country.

The celebration commemorates the murder of several students from the National University who protested against acts of corruption and for guarantees and freedoms for higher education in Colombia.

On June 8th, 1954 during the dictatorship of Gustavo Rojas Pinilla, commemorated 25 years of the events in 1929, attended by students from some universities. In the afternoon of that same day, in the territories of the National University, was killed by the police the medical student Uriel Gutierrez. The fact deeply touched the student community  and for this reason students decided to march to the presidential palace the next day, on June 9th. This demonstration was interrupted by the Colombia battalion returning from the Korean War who opened fire on the demonstration producing more than a dozen dead.

This is the story to commemorate those students who died. Nowaday as teachers we try to do both, to commemorate and have a diffrent day with some activities for students.

Fulgencistas are going to have this commemoration on june 18th. We hope you enjoy all activities we have for you.

Happy father´s Day

Father's Day is a celebration honoring fathers and fatherhood. Our country celebrate it on the second Sunday of June.
Students do not wait this date to say to your father "I love you Dad" but try to do this day a special one for him.

Happy day to those Fulgencistas fathers!´
